Habitat
Marine, pelagic, in tropical and sub-tropical seas of the Indian Ocean.

Range (Guide)

Eastern Indian Ocean (NB), Indonesia (NB), R�union (B), Western Indian Ocean (B) (NB).

Vagrant to Australia, Mauritius, Mozambique, South Africa.

Reunion and Rodrigues I in western Indian Ocean.

Population
Estimated population is 6,000 - 8,000 (2010) and decreasing.

Food
Fish, squid and other marine life.

Voice
Noisy and gregarious at breeding colonies, uttering a high-pitched 'ti-ti-ti' or low-pitched 'kek-kek-kek' in flight. Presumably silent at sea.
