South-eastern Brazil (Sío Paulo, eastern Minas Gerais and western Espírito Santo south to Rio Grande do Sul), eastern Paraguay and north-eastern Argentina (Misiones, north-eastern Corrientes).

Estimated population is unknown (2010) and decreasing.
Status NT
Habitat destruction and degradation through clearing and conversion to agriculture is the main threat.
