Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

sonivia Koelz, 1954 - Pakistan (R Indus plains) and north-western India (Punjab).
earlei (Blyth, 1844) - Northern India (Haryana east to northern Bihar and from West Bengal south to north-eastern Orissa, also in Assam and Manipur), southern Nepal, Bangladesh and south-west, central and southern Myanmar.
