Habitat
Open country, often near human habitation, well-wooded hills and dry deciduous forest with rivers. From sea-level - 2,500 m.

Range (Guide)

Bangladesh (B), Bhutan, Cambodia (B), China (mainland) (B), India (B), Laos (B), Malaysia (E), Myanmar (B), Nepal (B), Thailand (B), Vietnam (B).

Vagrant to Pakistan (NB), Singapore.

Eastern Pakistan through India, except extreme south, and Nepal to south-central China (southern Yunnan), Burma, Indochina and northern Malay Peninsula.

Population
Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2010) and decreasing.
