A hanging structure composed of lant fibers and vines, high in a tree. In colonies, with from 30 to 170 or more nests.

2; white or buff with dark spots. Incubation: about 15 days.
Young
Fledge in about 30 days.
Subspecies
No subspecies.
Sometimes placed in genus Gymnostinops. Forms a species group with Black Oropendola (Psarocolius guatimozinus) and Baudo Oropendola (Psarocolius cassini), and all possibly conspecific. Olive Oropendola (Psarocolius bifasciatus) and Amazonian Oropendola (Psarocolius yuracares) sometimes considered part of same group.
