Alcippe castaneceps (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Rufous-winged Fulvetta (Schoeniparus castaneceps) and Black-crowned Fulvetta (Schoeniparus klossi) following Collar (2006).
Formerly treated as conspecific with closely related Rufous-winged Fulvetta (Schoeniparus castaneceps).
