(Murphy & Mathews, 1929)

Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest.

Range (Guide)
Solomon Islands (B) (NB).

Nendo in the Santa Cruz islands of the Solomon Islands.
 
Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010) and decreasing.

Status NT
Habitat destruction through logging is the main threat.

Voice
A typical white-eye 'chip', uttered frequently when in flocks.

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Formerly placed in its own genus, Sanfordia, but resembles Bare-eyed White-eye (Zosterops superciliosus) sufficiently to be treated in same genus. May form a superspecies with Bare-eyed White-eye (Zosterops superciliosus).
