Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest. From sea-level - 1,900 m.

Ecuador, Peru.

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Spectacled Thrush (Turdus nudigenis) and Ecuadorian Thrush (Turdus maculirostris) (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) were previously lumped into Turdus nudigenis following SACC (2005) but have since been re-split following SACC (2009).

May form a superspecies with Spectacled Thrush (Turdus nudigenis), and often considered conspecific.
