Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland and montane moist forest, dry savanna.
Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], Côte dIvoire, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania [United Republic of], Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Vagrant to Benin, Botswana.
Senegambia east to southern Kenya and central Ethiopia, and south to Angola, north-eastern Botswana and eastern South Africa.
