Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest. From sea-level - 2,000 m.

Range (Guide)

Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], C�te dIvoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda.

Disjunctly from Sierra Leone and Guinea east to southern Cameroon, south-eastern Central African Republic, northern Zaire and south-western Uganda, south to northern Angola and south-central and eastern Zaire.

Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Closely related to Indicator, wherein perhaps closest to Greater Honeyguide (Indicator indicator), but separated generically on basis of unique tail and undertail-coverts, as well as voice and behaviour.
