Habitat
Subtropical and tropical dry forest, subtropical and tropical moist shrubland, plantations.
Afghanistan (B), Bangladesh, Bhutan, China (mainland), India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia (Asian), Sri Lanka, Thailand.
Introduced to Kuwait (E), Oman.
North-eastern Afghanistan eastern in foothills to western Nepal and West Bengal, south to eastern Pakistan and throughout peninsular India. Non-breeding Sri Lanka.

Estimated population is unknown (2010).
