Proposed subspecies stoliczkae of Chinese Turkestan based on feral birds.
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
decaocto (Frivaldszky, 1838) - Europe to Asia Minor, Turkestan and northern China and south to north-eastern Africa, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, India, Sri Lanka and western China.
xanthocycla (Newman, 1906) - Myanmar, Shan States, Yunnan and eastern China. Considered by some authors to be a distinct species, Burmese Collared-dove (Streptopelia xanthocycla).
