Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

reichenowi Sharpe, 1904 - Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, southern Ivory Coast, southern Ghana and Togo.
nitens Cassin, 1859 - Southern Nigeria, western and southern Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon and western PRCongo south to north-western Angola, also southern Sudan south to west, southern and eastern DRCongo, Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda.
