• niger (Vieillot, 1823)   -  Senegambia east to northern Ethiopia and south-western Arabia, and south to northern Cameroon, Chad and Sudan.
• aequatorius Clancey, 1987   -  Ethiopian highlands south to Zaire, Zambia and northern Mozambique.
• gabar (Daudin, 1800)   -  Southern Angola, Zambia and Mozambique south to South Africa.
