Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest.

Range (Guide)

Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], C�te dIvoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda.

Eastern Sierra Leone and Liberia to Ghana, and south-western Nigeria to Cabinda (extreme northern Angola); Bioko I; also extreme ECongo through northern Zaire and south-western Central African Republic to western Uganda.

Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Subspecies
Genus formerly merged with Chaetura or Mearnsia. Subspecies brevicauda of Bipindi (Cameroon) has been recognized but consistent geographical variation is lacking in this species.
