Habitat
Primary forest edges, secondary and disturbed lowland dipterocarp forest, riparian, peatswamp and kerangas forest. From sea-level - 600 m.

Brunei Darussalam (B), Indonesia (B), Malaysia (B), Singapore (E), Thailand (B).

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010) and decreasing.

Status NT
Habitat destruction throgh illegal logging and conversion to agriculture, and fires are the main threats.

Habits
Usually pairs or small groups. Also mixed feeding flocks.

Voice
Song is a series of mellow whistles 'pu pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pu-pupup-pu...', with a slight pause after the first note, at an even pitch. Can be accompanied with churring notes from its mate.
