Habitat
Understorey of lowland forests on poor soils, particularly freshwater peatswamp and heath forests on alluvial plains or terraces, lowland peatswamps and kerangas, mixed dipterocarp and dryland forests, lightly-logged forests and forests on sandy or rocky terrain.

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2020) and decreasing.
Status NT
Forest loss owing partly to the escalation of illegal logging and land conversion, with deliberate targeting of all remaining stands of valuable timber including those inside protected areas, and forest fires are the main threats.

albogularis (Blyth, 1844) - Malay Peninsula, north-eastern Sumatra, Batu Islands and Lingga Arch.
