Habitat
Primary lowland dipterocarp, peatswamp and kerangas forest. From sea-level - 600 m, occasionally to 1,300 m.

Range (Guide)

Brunei Darussalam (B), Indonesia (B), Malaysia (B), Myanmar (B), Singapore (E) (B), Thailand (B).

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010) and decreasing.

Status NT
Habitat loss through illegal logging and conversion to agriculture, and fires are the main threats.

Habits
Inconspicuous. Singly or in pairs. Often in mixed feeding flocks.

Food
Fruit and insects.

Voice
Song is a loud, high-pitched 'chee-oo-chee-tsoo', rising and falling in pitch, the last note being downwardly inflected.
