Subspecies
The following 4 subspecies are recognised:
unicolor Blyth, 1843 - Garhwal and from central Nepal eastern in Himalayas to north-eastern India (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland), southern China (south-eastern Xizang, western and southern Yunnan and southern Guangxi), Myanmar, Thailand (except central and south), northern and central Laos and northern Vietnam (northern Annam).
diaoluoensis (Cheng, Yang & Lu, 1981) - Hainan.
harterti Robinson and Kinnear, 1928 - Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java and Borneo.
cyanopolia Blyth, 1870 - Malay Pen., Sumatra, Java and Borneo.
