Habitat
Primary and secondary lowland dipterocarp, riverine and keranga forest. Below 500 m.
Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia (B), Malaysia (B).
Sumatra, Belitung I and Borneo.
 
Population
Estimated population is 10,000 - 19,999 (2010) and decreasing.
Status VU
Habitat destrction and degradation through logging and land conversion is the main threat.

Voice
A strange, low, mournful 'wa-ouuu', the second note descending in pitch, given mainly at dawn, dusk and on moonlit nights.
