Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland and montane moist forest. From sea-level - 2,500 m.

Range (Guide)

Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China (mainland), India, Indonesia, Laos (P), Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam (NB).

Himalayas from about Garhwal east through Nepal, Assam, Manipur, Bangladesh, south-eastern Tibet and south-central China (Sichuan, Yunnan), south to Myanmar, north-western Thailand and central Vietnam; also Andaman and Nicobar Is, but possibly only non-breeding visitor to latter. Winters south to northern Vietnam and Malay Peninsula, with apparently small numbers reaching Sumatra.
