Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
- maternalis (Phillips, AR, 1991) - South-western Chihuahua to southern Jalisco, in north-western Mexico.
- pinicola (Sclater, PL, 1859) - South-western Mexico (Veracruz and Michoacán to southern Guerrero and southern Oaxaca).
