Habitat
Lowland tropical and subtropical forest, including gallery forest. From sea-level - 600 m, but locally up to 1,200 m.

Argentina (B), Belize (B), Bolivia (B), Brazil (B), Colombia (B), Costa Rica (B), Ecuador (B), French Guiana (B), Guatemala (B), Guyana (B), Honduras (B), Mexico, Nicaragua (B), Panama (B), Paraguay, Peru (B), Suriname (B), Venezuela (B).

Guatemala and Honduras through Central America to Colombia and south to Paraguay, extreme north-eastern Argentina (Misiones) and southern Brazil; west of Andes, ranges southern only to Serran��a de Baud� (west-central Colombia).

Population
Estimated population is 1,000 - 10,000 (2010) and decreasing.

Status NT
Habitat destruction through deforestation and hunting are the main threats.
