Subspecies

The following 3 subspecies are recognised:
rubricomus Peters, JL, 1948 - Yucatán Peninsula south to central Belize.
pygmaeus (Ridgway, 1885) - Cozumel I (off eastern Yucatán Peninsula).
tysoni (Bond, J, 1936) - Guanaja I (off northern Honduras).
