Habitat
Subtropical and tropical moist montane forest. From 800 - 1,550 m.
Indonesia (B) (NB).
Western and central Buru (Mt Kapalatmada and Mada Range), in southern Moluccas.

Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2010) and decreasing.
Status EN
Habitat destruction as a result of logging and conversion to small-scale agriculture is thought to be the main threat.

Subspecies
No subspecies.
Monotypic genus, with no obvious close relatives. Perhaps closest to Lophozosterops and Tephrozosterops.
Similar Species
Male Cinnamon-chested Flycatcher (Ficedula buruensis) is much darker above and more extensively rufous on underparts.
