Similar Species
Philippine Bush-hen (Amaurornis olivacea) which is smaller, with shorter yellow bill and legs, Purple Swamphen (Porphyrio porphyrio) (recently discovered on Halmahera) is much larger and bluer, with shorter, thicker bill and conspicuous white undertail-coverts.
