Subspecies
No close relatives.

The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

olivaceus (Gmelin, 1788) - Western and south-central Cape Province.
prometheus Clancey, 1952 - Southern Cape Province north-east to northern Transvaal and western Swaziland.
