Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

forbesi Neumann, 1908 - South-eastern Senegal, south-western Mali, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea and northern Sierra Leone east to Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria.
rara (Antinori, 1864) - Cameroon east to southern Sudan, north-eastern DRCongo, Uganda and extreme western Kenya.
