Vagrant to Hong Kong (China).

• armandii (Milne-Edwards, 1865)   -  Breeds central and north-eastern China (southern Manchuria and southern Liaoning south to eastern Qinghai, eastern Xizang and western Sichuan). Non-breeding southern China (western and southern Yunnan), Myanmar, northern Thailand, northern Laos and northern Vietnam (eastern Tonkin).
• perplexus Ticehurst, 1934   -  Breeds south-central China (Ningxia and Hubei south to south-eastern Xizang, north-western and northern Yunnan and south-western Sichuan) and north-eastern Myanmar. Non-breeding Myanmar and southern China (southern and western Yunnan, Guizhou).
