Bhutan and north-eastern India east to southern China (western and southern Yunnan), and south to western and southern Myanmar, northern and western Thailand, northern Laos and north-western Vietnam.

Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2010) and decreasing.
Status VU
Deforestation and habitat degradation through logging, shifting cultivation and clearance for agriculture, widespread hunting and trapping for food, and trade in pets and casques, are the main threats.
