Habitat
Primary, secondary and logged forest. From sea-level - c.400 m. Also mangroves.
Indonesia (B).
Geelvink Bay islands of Numfor, Rani, Supiori and Biak, in north-western New Guinea.
 
Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010) and decreasing.
Status NT
Habitat destruction and degradation due to logging and subsistence farming is the main threat.

Call is a disyllabic up-down whistle. Song consists of rasping notes.
