Subspecies
Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Crowned Chat-Tyrant (Silvicultrix frontalis).
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
spodionota (von Berlepsch & Stolzmann, 1896) - Peru, Bolivia. Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Crowned Chat-Tyrant (Silvicultrix frontalis).
boliviana (Carriker, 1935) - Southern Peru and western Bolivia. Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Crowned Chat-Tyrant (Silvicultrix frontalis).
