Eggs (Guide)
4 or 5 sometimes 6; cream; rounded; about 30 x 24 mm. Incubation: 20 - 22 days; by female.
Young
Nidicolous and probably altricial. Fledge in about 5 weeks.
Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
caledonicus (Gmelin, JF, 1788) - Tasmania and larger islands in Bass Strait.
