Subspecies
Subspecies traylori may be distinct species.
The following 9 subspecies are recognised:
castaneus (Sclater, PL, 1858) - East-central Colombia to eastern Ecuador and northern Peru.
ochraceiventris (Stolzmann, 1926) - Central Peru.
traylori Blake, 1961 - South-eastern Peru.
punensis (Chubb, C, 1918) - South-eastern Peru, northern Bolivia.
