Habitat
Subtropical and tropical high altitude shrubland. From 1,600 - 2,360 m.

Grand Comoro (Ngazidja), Comoro Islands (B).

Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2010) and decreasing.
Status VU
Destruction and degradation of habitat is the main threat.

Habits
Forages in large groups in bushes or flying just over vegetation. Often observed with Malagasy White-eye (Zosterops maderaspatanus ).
Food
Insects and fruit.
Voice
Noisy. Continual contact by typical buzzy white-eye calls and twitterings.
