Subspecies
Forms a superspecies with African Olive-pigeon (Columba arquatrix), Cameroon Olive-pigeon (Columba sjostedti) and Sao Tome Olive-pigeon (Columba thomensis), and all are sometimes considered conspecific. Asiatic Speckled Woodpigeon (Columba hodgsonii) may also belong within this superspecies.
