Subspecies
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:

comorensis (Peters, W, 1854) - Ngazidja (Grand Comoro), Mwali (Moheli) and Ndzuani (Anjouan) in Comoros.
drouhardi Lavauden, 1929 - Western and southern Madagascar.
vasa (Shaw, 1812) - Eastern Madagascar.
