Subspecies
Possibly an island derivative of Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos), with which interbreeding reported but probably rare.
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
- gundlachii Cabanis, 1855 - Bahamas, Camagüey Archipelago (northern coast of Cuba) and Turks and Caicos Is.
- hillii March, WT, 1864 - Southern Jamaica.
