Vagrant to Antigua And Barbuda, Bahamas, French Polynesia, Jamaica, Japan, Marshall Islands, South Korea, St Pierre and Miquelon (NB) (P), United Kingdom.
From central Alaska and western Canada southwards to north-eastern California and Minnesota, USA.

Estimated population is 520,000 (2010).
