Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

pallidinucha (Boissonneau, 1840) - South-western Venezuela (T�chira) and eastern Andes of Colombia (Norte de Santander south to Cundinamarca).
papallactae Hellmayr, 1913 - Central Andes of Colombia (southern from Caldas) and eastern slope of Ecuador south to extreme northern Peru (Piura-Cajamarca border).
