El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico.

South-eastern Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and south-western Honduras.

Population
Estimated population is 20,000 - 49,999 (2010).

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Has in the past been thought to form a superspecies with American Robin (Turdus migratorius) on account of behavioural and vocal similarities, but plumages rather different.
