Subspecies
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:

anais (Lesson, 1839) - West Papuan Is (Salawati) and north-western New Guinea.
orientalis (Schlegel, 1871) - Coastal northern New Guinea east to Huon Peninsula.
robertsonii D'Albertis, 1877 - Southern New Guinea (east to Milne Bay).
