Subspecies
Probably forms a superspecies with Mountain Imperial-Pigeon (Ducula badia) and Timor Imperial-Pigeon (Ducula cineracea), although ranges of present species and Mountain Imperial-Pigeon (Ducula badia) overlap in western Java.
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:
- lacernulata (Temminck, 1823) - Western Java.
- williami (Hartert, 1896) - Eastern Java and Bali.
- sasakensis (Hartert, 1896) - Lombok, Sumbawa and Flores.
