Habitat
Lowland, moist and dry, deciduous monsoon-forest, including forest edges and patchy, dry forest/savanna. More rarely (or at lower densities in) semi-evergreen forest. From sea-level - 1,000 m.

Range (Guide)

Indonesia (B).

West-central Lesser Sundas on Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, Besar, Solor, Lomblen, Pantar and Alor.

Population
Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2010) and decreasing.

Status VU
Habitat loss through forest clearance, due to shifting agriculture, burning in the dry season, mining, hunting and trade are the main threats.

Voice
Generally silent, though low grunts, possibly associated with breeding behaviour have been recorded.

Subspecies
Closely allied to Thick-billed Green-Pigeon (Treron curvirostra) and has been considered a subspecies of Thick-billed Green-Pigeon (Treron curvirostra) or of Pompadour Green-Pigeon (Treron pompadora).

No subspecies.

Similar Species
Female Pink-necked Green-Pigeon (Treron vernans) which has a green crown and pale chestnut undertail-coverts and female Wedge-tailed Green-Pigeon (Treron sphenurus) which has a green crown, no pale fringes to wing-coverts and wedge-shaped tail.
