Habitat
Primary lowland dipterocarp forest, secondary forest, coastal forest, kerangas, selectively logged, gallery and swamp forest, plantations. From sea-level - 600 m.
Brunei Darussalam (B), Indonesia (B), Malaysia (B), Singapore (E) (B), Thailand (B).
Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010) and decreasing.
Status VU
Forest destruction due to commercial and illegal logging, conversion to agriculture and increasing human population pressure are the main threats.

Habits
Usually in pairs.
Food
Mainly large fruit but also insects and small vertebrates.
Voice
An irregular, harsh, creaking 'kyaa kyaa'.
