Similar Species
Dusky Scrubfowl (Megapodius freycinet) which is smaller has a conspicuous tail and different head pattern, and Wattled Brush-turkey (Aepypodius arfakianus) of New Guinea which has blackish plumage, bluish-white face and single wattle.
