Green Oropendola (Psarocolius viridis) [XC284814]
by Rodrigo Dela Rosa from Serra do Navio, Serra do Navio, Amap\u00e1, Brazil (call)
Subspecies
No subspecies.
Analysis of mitochondrial DNA indicates present species is closer to Amazonian Oropendola (Psarocolius yuracares) than to Crested Oropendola (Psarocolius decumanus). Populations in north-eastern Peru sometimes separated as subspecies flavescens (described from Xeberos, in eastern Peru), but this separation seems unwarranted.
