Habitat
Primary and secondary forest, as well as low shrubs at forest edges, mature forest and forest clearings. From 950 - 2,050 m, occasionally down to at least 1,100 m.

Nest
Composed of moss, roots and spiders' webs, with a side entrance, and is situated on a low branch, creeper, liana or shrub.
Subspecies
No subspecies.
Genus often subsumed in Nectarinia. Has been thought to be closely related to, and possibly forming a superspecies with, Variable Sunbird (Cinnyris venustus).
