Subspecies
No subspecies.
Has been thought by some to form a superspecies with Yucatan Wren (Campylorhynchus yucatanicus) and Cactus Wren (Campylorhynchus brunneicapillus). Sometimes treated as conspecific with Spotted Wren (Campylorhynchus gularis), but the two are quite distinct in appearance and probably occupy slightly different ecological niches.
