(Salvin, 1863)

Range (Guide)
Lowlands of south-eastern Mexico from east-central Veracruz (near city of Veracruz), Tabasco and eastern Chiapas east to northern Yucatán, northern Guatemala (Petén) and Belize. Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Botteri's Sparrow (Peucaea botterii).
